How to use git

Git is a widely-used version control system designed to handle everything from small to very large projects with speed and efficiency. The process typically starts with git add, which stages changes you’ve made to files in your working directory for a commit. This step doesn’t yet record the changes; it simply marks them for inclusion in the next commit. Then, git commit is used to actually commit the staged changes. This creates a snapshot of your project, allowing you to save or share the current state of your code. After committing, you can use git push to upload your local repository content to a remote repository.

This is often used to share your changes with others or to backup your work on a remote server. Conversely, git pull is used to fetch and integrate changes from a remote repository into your local repository. This command is a combination of git fetch, which retrieves changes from a remote repository, and git merge, which merges these changes into your current branch. In summary, Git provides a robust framework for tracking and collaborating on software development projects, streamlining the process of managing changes and ensuring consistency and integrity of code.
